Effects of Depression - The Impact on Your Family

I wrote this article to help you help someone you know or love who suffers from depression.

Depression is real and is truly disabling. I walked in those shoes and will never judge who is truly depressed and who is not. If you know someone who suffers from depression, which usually is a happy, active and a good sense of humor, then read on. Later I will give you suggestions on different ways to help with gifts.

So one day I deal with work and my marriage, like most other days, stressful. I was feeling very tired at work and at home, so I decided to take some time off work. I just wanted a few days before the weekend, so I had almost a week off. I felt I needed some rest, then I will return to you. Wrong!

I remember the Sunday evening before I had to return to work, I was feeling anxious.

I was exhausted, emotionally confused and really very weak. I only had that in the early afternoon, so I got up early Monday morning and went to my clinic. I told the doctor my symptoms and he said you sound depressed. I was shocked. "Depression?" I asked why we suggest that. He said after I asked a few simple questions and know what to look for signs. I will recommend you that week off and see your family doctor.

I've been on Paxil for panic attacks, but the doctor told me to start taking half a pill more until I see my family doctor to decide how to proceed. I could not believe it. I was thinking maybe a vitamin B shot or maybe some iron tablets, or even one day off, there was no way I thought I was depressed. Apart from feeling exhausted and a little worried to go back to work, I was fine, so I thought.

When I got home and explained what the doctor said my husband is very close to the same reaction as me. He saw I was tired, but never suggested I was suffering from depression.

This was an important part comes in. There is no way I can tell you everything I went through in a single article, but I promise you, I will be honest and I will help you either recover more quickly, or if nothing else, your friends or family is the best we can while struggling with this really strong unexpected illness that you have little control over the past hits. The key to this disease, although symptoms appear before it hits you.

Now, when I was diagnosed, receive and support is crucial. The first thing you should do if you suffer from depression is to educate yourself about the disease and make sure you ask your friends and family to do the same. This is the best gift you can give right now, ignorance is deadly to someone suffering from depression. People who are depressed may have moments or hours, I feel great, then the crash feeling very close to not worry about life. It is that serious. So, get knowledgeable about the disease, which is probably the best gift, but other useful things that would be of therapeutic quality essential oils. Scent and the dissemination of these oils or depending on your relationship with a person who suffers, massage your feet every day with lavender or peppermint, which are both uplifting and soothing. Do not buy cheap quality essential oils. It may do more harm than good. Books are a great gift. Make sure you are positive and uplifting again. It is time for a person suffering from depression, to spend quality time taking care of themselves through their friends and family to help best.
